Food was great. Service was awful. Waited 30 minutes (after 15 minute estimated wait) for table of 6. 3 tables of 2 arriving after us were seated first (understandable). However, table of 5 arriving after us were seated first. Table could have sat 6. Finally we were seated facing a chalkboard (see photo) with no possibility of conversation. Two the six orders were not correct. Higher rating is reflective of food, not service.
The Mac Nut Fried Chicken was on point! I could have eaten it again and again. We were expecting bone in fried chicken but it was a boneless breast which was even better.
Waitresses were very friendly when they finally made their appearance from the kitchen area, and you were able to get their attention. However, we had to wait quite a while before we could even signal someone down for something as basic as more water!
THE PRICES WERE HIGH! I would have had better food and service at McDonald's! We don't mind paying for good food and service, but considering we got neither, it was a total ripoff.

Very fresh food. Really good salads. Fish is always good. Burgers are amazing. The employees are very happy and treat the patrons well. The owners even make the insanely good chocolate cake.... I think that this is the best non upscale place to eat in Hanalei!
THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE! My fish was dry, the fries were cold, and what they called "coleslaw" was just cabbage with a very slight bit of mayonnaise for dressing.
Waitresses, for the most part, were nowhere to be found. When our granddaughter needed some sauce for her fish burger, she had to wait and wait, while her fish got cold, before we were able to finally spot and wave down a waitress.
Frozen margarita was too light on the margarita flavor. Marlin was grilled too long and served without seasoning of any kind. Kids chicken nuggets were clearly from a frozen package. My son didn’t like his burger. Mashed pots were simply mashed potatoes. Again no seasoning. Overall a very ‘meh’ experience. Will not return.
If you get there before 6:30 they give a early bird "special" which is just $2 off each meal which is better than nothing.
