I've gotten the opportunity to prepare poi here twice, and it's a great experience that I'll never forget.
Went here for leadership retreat so my experience would differ from many others but the work that Waipa does is critical to conserving true Hawaiian culture by maintaining the land as it would have been years ago. Their focus is on agriculture and the importance of man's relationship with the land for survival. There is a brand new and beautiful kitchen facility to teach students about preparing poi. For a true understanding of what masks this place so special this is an under appreciated must.
