Pretty good shave ice at JoJo's. Their ice is great...soft and fluffy. Their cookies and cream milkshakes are awesome!! Wishing Well shave ice down the street I like much better...they have organic natural flavors...but Wishing Well is more expensive.
Pretty good shave ice -- our favorite in Kauai. The flavors tend to be more sweet than tart. They're generous with the cream topping and macadamia nut ice cream.
Their website says they are.open until 8:30PM. We arrived at 8:10PM to find a short line. We waited in line for five minutes. During our wait, one of the employees place a fresh block of ice on the shaver. At 8:15 it was our turn to order. We were told, "Sorry, we are only serving ice cream now." I said "this is our last night here." The girl at the counter said, "Sorry" and hung a closed sign up in front of us. Worst customer service on our entire trip.
Syrups are all handmade and not overly sweet. Ice is properly shaved. Service is friendly (a little slow). What more could you want? This is the best post-hike treat!
This place is amazing! The staff was friendly and super helpful in assisting us with the menu. And, of course, the shaved ice was delish. Felt like a good value, too, just under 5$ for a sizable portion.
The only reason I don't give them five stars is the wait. Even if the line looks short, they often have a backlog of orders to fill, and the staff don't operate with any sense of urgency when things really back up. That is not too unusual for Hawaii, of course, but if you just got back from the beach and don't like the idea of waiting in line in the sun for a while, consider the shave ice place across the street.
