I had a wonderful experience at Bar Acuda! The food was outstanding. There was a nice variety of dishes to choose from. Each came out fresh and hot delivered by friendly wait staff who never left me with an empty water glass. The owner himself was extremely welcoming. I’ve witnessed him showing generous support to the community and I’m happy to support this great place!
The food was good but not outstanding. I think it is imperative not to over praise restaurants. The tapas we were served was very salty indeed and the portions did not justify the price we paid. It is so easy for restaurants like this to sell you ‘tapas’ as small plates to share (as it says on the wall) but actually charge you main course prices. It’s unreasonable and frankly mocks the diner. I would tread carefully Bar Acuda as people will catch on...
Delicious food, attentive server, lovely evening until we barely finished our desserts and they immediately took our wine glasses, water glasses and was wiping the table down. Not even done with our wine. Literally 3 minutes or less than finishing dessert. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and the day of our vow renewal. Such a turn off to be rushed out. 1-2 minutes after wiping the table the same man came back and said, "Well actually we have a 9 top arriving, so you need to leave. We would have left in a couple minutes anyway. But we will never be back due to ruining our lovely evening by this rude man that wanted our space. Bad customer service is what brings restaurants down. $250 for tapas and then you get the bum rush. So unfortunate.
Food is four stars, but the value is three. The pizza is pretty bad, so we were surprised that our server steered us to it. It's still good food though, and a nice place, but you pay for it! I appreciate how they have a bunch of vegetarian options.
I've eaten dinner at Bar Acuda a number of times and have always left feeling better than when I arrived. Food is a bit over priced but such is Kauai. Food and service always excellent. LOVE the cheesecake. Will recommend.
